Flag Football first originated somewhere between the mid-eighties. But according to the webster dictionary, this game was first officially introduced in 1933. Not so long, after somewhere near the 1940s, US Military started getting the urge to play this game. They started playing it & soon it became the country of war survivors playing Flag Football.
In 1960, for the first in this game of history, the team was made. That team was the city of St Louis in the National Touch Football League. Regarding this league, the first championship was played in 1971. Not only that but, they also got successful in producing the first rule book ever for this. As well as, they also introduced the hall of fame to value the legends for their outstanding play.

College Intramural Flag Football Tournament
In the late 70s, the University of New Orleans organized the first collegiate Intramural Flag Football tournament. The popularity they gained through this tournament got a lot of success in this game & league. After that, this football tournament was converted into the Annual National Collegiate Flag Football Championship.
Soon after the conversion of the tournament onto the championship. A lot of students start enjoying the success of this game playing it. For many people who are doing graduation, this game became a source of happiness after passing. It led this game to develop further leagues spring up all over the country with the craze of this game. They also introduced National Competitions to Crown the best overall team among all.
USFTL Flag Football & AFTFL Flag Football
Often many people are now thinking, is there only college flag football introduced at that time? To solve the question of their mind, yeah there was some other tournament that wasn’t played at the college level.
At that time, the largest non-college tournament was USFTL National Flag Football Tournament. It was held annually in Florida and Orlando. It was so big that numerous teams only came to be a part of it in different categories to decide who is the strongest.
But in 1991, AFTFL was introduced. Now the present, it conducts an annual National Level Championship Tournament in Atlanta every February. Not only that but several other tournaments are running to satisfy the love of the 20 million Flag Football Players game.
Pro Flag Bowl [Combined League Level]
In the late 90s, a meeting was organized between major Flag Football organizations to take this game to a different level. From that meeting, it was found, that every team needs to decide on the 9 best players in the nation to compete in the championship. And the finalist of this championship will meet in Pro Flag Bowl to decide the champion.
It was the first time when Pro Flag Bowl was introduced around the world. Not only that, but it also represents the way for the people to identify the single strongest national champion for themselves.

Professional Flag Football League
In the year 1999, the Flag Football league started moving in a different direction. Now all the teams started following a professional travel schedule for their games. This league was named as Professional Flag Football League.
The teams included in this are from Buffalo, Columbus, Cleveland, Toledo, Dayton, & Indianapolis. As it continued, three of them underwent the end of the season. But due to some uncertainties, the league championship game has never happened.
